Candice was born in Hauppauge, Long Island, on 8 May 1971. Even as a very young child she was taken by the magic of music. According to her parents she was able to sing melodies when she was only 6 months old. At the age of 4 she took part in the “Masque Little Theatre Group” that showed small plays such as “Tom Sawyer” or “Mary Poppins”. When she got older she started dancing, doing gymnastics and Baton Twirling. She started playing the piano and had lessons till the age of 12 and she also took lessons in singing and acting. At this age Candice started modelling. When she was 18 years old she decided to start a carrier in the music business. She worked as a trainee for a rockstation in New York and studied communication at the “New York Institute of Technology”. In 1989 she got to know Ritchie Blackmore at a charity football match between employees of her rockstation and Deep Purple. She had her own radioshow during that time. Later on she worked with “Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow” and she was responsible for the lyrics of four songs on the album “Stranger in us all”. Because of their common love for music of the Renaissance they started a common project.
